World Cup 2010 Sweepstakes

We've done a World Cup sweepstakes at work that has several prizes so it's not just the person with the winning team that wins.

The prizes are for:

Winner of World Cup 2010
Most Yellow Cards in the first rounds.
Most Players sent off in first rounds.
Most goals conceded in first rounds.
Team with best hairstyles! (lol)

So we all took a lucky dip for the teams and I ended up with............

Algeria. :huh:

Well I could be in with a shot for Most yellow cards or goals conceded maybe.
Definitely not the winner of the world cup and definitely not best hairstyles.

But Algeria is in England's group.... lol so when England and Algeria are playing i'll be cheering England on, but also hoping for Algeria to concede loads of goals and commit loads of fouls! haha! :P

Ah England, they feel like a thing of the past these days!

Well there's one good thing.... and that's that England know they have to beat Slovenia and they don't have to worry about the result of the USA vs Algeria match. Usually in the last of the group matches the teams aren't always such whether they will get through on just a draw or if they have to push for a win, and that's why the last matches of each group are played at the same time so the players don't know what score will make them safe.

But as for Englands last match, they will go through if they win the game. As for USA vs Algeria, it doesn't matter if USA win, Algeria win or they draw because it won't affect England going through.

So come on England, focus on winning a game for once.

Bring on Joe Cole as well you idiot of a Manager!

Ok so looking forward to Sundays match against Germany. :)

It's pretty annoying that we didn't top our group as we face a tough route now.

Germany, passing that we could face Argentina, facing that we could face Spain (unless they go out tonight. :P) then passing that we could face Brazil in the final.

As opposed to facing Ghana, then Uruguay or South Korea. :huh:

Ah well, Italy is gone which is good... hopefully Spain will too.

To be fair, they started the tournament poorly and went downhill from there. Rubbish effort throughout. I'll be glad when its all over now.

Well it's almost over. Have you heard of Paul the Oracle Octopus? He's so far predicted ALL of Germany's games throughout the tournament with 100% accuracy including the defeats to Serbia and Spain.

Paul has predicted Germany to beat Uruguay in to 3rd place. And has predicted Spain to win the World Cup title. The final between Holland and Spain is the first non Germany game that Paul has predicted for. However back in 2008 Paul did the same thing and only had an accuracy of 30% or he got 30% wrong, not sure which it was. So far he's got a 100% record so far.

Personally I want Holland to win.
