Well the iPod touch started the app craze and the release of the iPhone and iPad has reinforced their position. Apps look like they are becoming a long term and legitimate form of software. They have even crossed over in to the gaming world. So are we looking at the future generation of Games machines in the iPad?
From apps as sophisticated as Real Racing, to the fun of Jelly Car 2, the challenge of Eliminate Pro or the claming pleasure from We Rule. These are serious competition to the ‘traditional’ games market and it looks like they’re here to stay.

The game Apps have been getting more and more advanced recently, Sniper Vs Sniper a current favorite of mine, now it seems major Game producers have seen the gold rush and have subsequently jumped on the cash cow by releasing games like Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, The Sims and the old classic Sim City. I’ve just found Fifa World Cup and Splinter Cell Conviction too. Basically, there are loads, and more and more traditional games are appearing every day.
From time to time I suffer from insomnia; this is in complete contrast to my fiancé who sleeps like a narcoleptic log! So on those long sleepless nights I pick up my iPhone and play games, I love going on the app store and buying/downloading the latest App’s especially the ones from the independent developers, the sillier the better.
There is, however, a dark side to my iPhone. I keep missing things. I think it’s an addiction! While I watch a film or some TV I will subconsciously pick up my iPhone and start playing, 20 minutes later I’ve missed a load of vital plot-lines or the winning goal!
I was just about to say I only do this at home, but that's just not true. I'm sitting in a cafe in London right now writing this on my iPhone.
It's got control of me and it's not giving it back. Hello, my names Rubberbandit, and I'm an i-oholic. It's been half n hour since my last app.

The iPad recently went on sale here in the UK, and the announcement of the iPhone v4 earlier this month just seems to have fortified Apple’s position in the market.
Do you have an iPad? Thinking of getting one? Gamerperfection.com would love to know what you think of it, how do the games play? Will it ever replace the traditional laptop? More to the point, will it ever replace the Games Console? Let us know over in the forum.
